"Pride can be a dangerous weapon."
Human kind has always been viewed as the dominant species, Our vast intellect and ability to adapt has separated us from the rest of the world. Because of this, we don't preoccupy ourselves with the thought of being overtaken by another species. But what would happen if an unknown species did arise and was capable of challenging our status?
My story revolves around a skilled knight who is sent out by his king in search of a few missing soldiers. But when the knight arrives at their location, he is shocked to discover nothing but ruin. The men he was sent out to find have vanished, and the only things left are their weapons and armor. Upon closer inspection he notices something unfamiliar imbedded onto one of the shields, is it a part of some creature!? The knight does not know what to make of the fang shaped object. Suddenly he senses something watching him, and as he turns to look, a sinister beast reveals itself.
These are some influences that inspired my work

Reign of Fire is a great example of how I wish to portray the dragons in my piece. Strong, self efficient, and dominating.

The Trojan War has a very similar atmosphere to my piece, from the landscape to the way people lived and how they dressed and battled.

Beowulf is another story that compliments my piece. Most of the characters are pride driven and sometimes neglect their own safety in order to prove themselves. This mentality is what causes conflict between the humans and every other creature introduced in this tale.
